

Prof. Yeong-Wook SONG (Korea)
Yeong wook Song is Professor of Internal Medicine,
and Chief of Rheumatology at the Seoul National University,
College of Medicine, where he has been since 1988. Dr.
Song received his medical degree from Seoul National University
College of Medicine. He did an internship and residency
in internal medicine in Seoul National University Hospital.
He received his PhD from Seoul National University in
1990. His fellowship training in rheumatology was at University
of California Los Angeles under the direction of Bevra
Hahn. He was authored over 100 articles published in peer-reviewed
journals. He is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology,
a former Secretary General of Asia Pacific League against
Rheumatism 2004, President of East Asian Group of Rheumatology,
and a chairman of Korea Research Council of Rheumatism.
Dr. Song¡¦s current research is on the genetics and pathogenesis
of lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. He also provides consultations
and long-term care for patients with rheumatic diseases.
Among his awards are the Ellis-Dressner Award of the Southern
California Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and Young
Investigator Award from Seoul National University Hospital.
