Prof. Annie Wai Chee KUNG (Hong
Kong)
Dr Annie Wai-Chee Kung is the Sir David Todd Professor in
Medicine at the University of Hong Kong and the Director
of the Osteoporosis Centre and Consultant at Queen Mary
Hospital.
Professor Kung holds numerous professional memberships
and sits on a number of committees. She is a Board member
of the International Society for Clinical Densitometry
in 2002-2005, and currently the chairperson of the Asia-Pacific
Panel of ISCD. She is also a member of the National Society
Committee of the International Osteoporosis Foundation.
Her other associations include the Hong Kong Society of
Endocrinology, Metabolism and Reproduction (Past President),
The Osteoporosis Society of Hong Kong (Founding President),
The Hong Kong Osteoporosis Foundation (Chairman of Scientific
Committee), and Endocrine Society, USA (Member since 1989).
She is also an Honorary Professor of Sun Yat-sen University
of Medical Sciences, Guangzhou, PR China.
Professor Kung holds positions as a reviewer of health
research funding proposals in Hong Kong and a licensed
examiner of the Royal Colleges of United Kingdom.
Professor Kung has published widely in the international
peer-reviewed literature with over 150 papers and she
has made over 210 conference paper presentations. She
sits on a number of journal editorials boards including
Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Osteoporosis
International, Chinese Medical Journal, China Osteoporosis
Journal and Chinese Journal of Osteoporosis and Bone Mineral
Research. She is also a reviewer for a number of journals
including Bone, Journal of Human Genetics, Endocrinology,
European Journal of Endocrinology, Thyroid, American Journal
of Clinical Nutrition, European Journal of Clinical Nutrition,
International Journal of Obesity, and Clinical Chemistry.
