

Prof. Sang-Cheol BAE (Korea)
Sang-Cheol Bae is currently the Director of Hanyang University
Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, which is the leading
specialized hospital in Korea as well as Asia, the Director
of Section for Clinical & Genetic Epidemiology and
Economics, Institute of Rheumatology, Hanyang University,
Seoul, Korea, and the Director of ˇ§Clinical Research Center
for Rheumatoid Arthritisˇ¨ funded by Ministry for Health,
Welfare and Family Affairs, Korea.
Professor Bae is a graduate of the Hanyang University
where he studied medicine and gained his MD (1984) and
PhD (1993). He also gained his MPH (1998) in Harvard School
of Public Health, Boston, Massachusetts. He had worked
as a Rheumatology Research Fellow and an Instructor in
Brigham & Womenˇ¦s Hospital, Harvard Medical School,
Boston, Massachusetts (1996-1998).
Professor Baeˇ¦s major research interests include: 1.
Clinical Epidemiology, 2. Clinical Trials and Innovative
Treatment, 3. Clinical Economics and Outcomes Research,
and 4. Translational Research ˇV Genetic Epidemiology &
Pharmacogenetics in the field of rheumatic diseases, particularly
rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
He has published over 320 articles in this area.
