

Prof. Romi SINGH (India)
Dr. Romi Singh is currently working as Associate Professor
in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, India,
an institute under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Government of India.
He is also a member of National Academy of Medical Sciences
(MNAMS), besides being life member for BJD ¡VINDIA NAN,
Indian Rheumatology Association, Indian Association of
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, IMA.
Dr Singh has received many awards in the field of PM
&R including, 1) WG Rama Rao Travel fellow for young
PM&R specialists in the year 2000, 2) Dr Hanumantha
Rao Gold Medal for best paper presentation in IAPMR International
conference held at New Delhi, in January 2000, 3) West
Bengal Chapter Award in IAPMR National conference held
at Kolkata during January 2003, 4) Dr N.B Singh best paper
award during IAPMR National Conference held at Imphal,
during February 2005.
He is the Principal Investigator of COPCORD Epidemiological
studies on Rheumatic Musculo Skeletal Disorders in Manipur,
being carried out as one of few BJD India-NAN projects
in 2008 in the North-Eastern region. He is also the Co-Investigator
of Project on Endo-skeletal lower limb prosthesis with
hydraulic knee and ankle joint systems, being carried
out as a sponsored project by the Ministry of Social Justice
and Empowerment, GOI (2007-09). Dr Singh has special interest
in COPCORD epidemiological studies and Osteoporosis.
Dr Singh has undergone a-short term training on Rheumatology
during September ¡V October 2008, in the Department of
Clinical Immunology at SGPGI, Lucknow.
Dr Singh has attended many National conferences and Workshops.
Dr Singh had organized the National Mid Term CME of IAPMR
in 2008 at Imphal on Rheumatology Update and Rehabilitation
aspects of common Rheumatic disorders and Osteoporosis.
He has published 14 papers in the field of rehabilitation
and rheumatology in the National peer review journals
and one paper on stroke rehabilitation in an International
peer review journal. He has also co-authored a chapter
in a book on Neuro-rehabilitation.
