
Prof. Raymond YUNG (USA)
Dr. Raymond Yung is currently Professor of Internal Medicine
at the University of Michigan, and the Associate Director
for Research at the Veterans Administration Ann Arbor
Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center. He
received medical training from the University of Liverpool
in the United Kingdom. He subsequently completed both
Rheumatology and Geriatric Medicine fellowship training
at the University of Michigan. He has a strong clinical
interest in the emerging field of Geriatric Rheumatology.
In terms of science, Dr. Yung has been continually funded
by US federal grants since 1992. He is a recipient of
the prestigious Paul Beeson Physician Faculty Scholar
in Aging Research Award from the American Federation for
Aging Research. His research centers around the intersection
between aging, autoimmunity and epigentics. Working with
his former mentor Dr. Bruce Richardson, he established
the first murine model of drug-induced lupus. He is currently
investigating the role of ancestral diet in modulating
the T cell epigenome and the development of late-life
inflammatory diseases.
