Prof. Peter Kwong Yuen CHIU (Hong
Kong)
Professor Peter Kwong Yuen CHIU is Clinical Professor and
Chief of Division of Joint Replacement Surgery at Department
of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, The University of Hong
Kong at Queen Mary Hospital, Pokfulam, Hong Kong. He graduated
from the Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong
in 1987. After the internship year, he worked in Department
of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Queen Mary Hospital as
a medical officer from 1998 to 1991. He became lecturer
in 1991, senior lecturer in 1996, associate professor in
1997 and clinical professor in 2006. He sub-specialized
in Joint Replacement Surgery for more than 15 years, and
has been the Chief of Division of Joint Replacement Surgery
in his department in the past 13 years. He has been invited
to lecture for more than 100 times, and has published more
than 150 book chapters and peer-reviewed articles. He is
very active in educating orthopaedic surgeons from China
in that arts and science of joint replacement surgery. He
has also been the office bearers of many professional bodies,
such as Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association, Hong Kong College
of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Associations.
He was elected to the International Hip Society in 2008.
