Dr. Asuma. A.RAHIM (India)

Dr.Asuma Rahim is currently working as Associate professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Public health at Calicut Medical college,Kerala ,India. She has authored a textbook in public health titled “Principles and Practice of Community Medicine” and has several research presentations and publications to her credit. Her current research interests are in the field of Infectious diseases, Community Rheumatology,Geriatric Medicine,Community Psychiatry and Immunisation in Public health. She is presently involved in the preparation of manuscript of book titled “Rational use of vaccines in clinical practice”.She is an active member and Vice president of the Alzheimers and related disorder society ,India(Calicut chapter) and is involved in field studies on Dementia and related disorders in the Community. She is a coinvestigator with Dr. Binoy .J.Paul and Dr.Arvind Chopra in Multicentric Indian study funded by BJD INDIA NAN titled “ Prevalence of Rheumatic musculoskeletal diseases in a Population of North Kerala using WHO ILAR COPCORD Bhigwan Model”. Her presentation “ Risk factors of Rheumatic muscular skeletal diseases in a Rural area of North Kerala- was adjudged the best paper in IRACON -2008,World Bone and Joint meet ,PUNE.in the COPCORD Epidemiology session.
